This bill would permit a physician assistant to perform abortions without physician oversight. It also removes training requirements for P.A.s including code sections requiring a P.A. to receive training in transferring patients to a hospital, obtaining assistance and consultation with a physician or surgeon, or procedures for providing emergency care until a physician can consult or assist. We are always opposed to abortion expansion because it takes the lives of 154,000 children in California. Lowering the oversight of abortion is also detrimental to the health and safety of women.
