AB 710 (Schiavo, D-Santa Clarita) This bill creates a public awareness campaign of abortion and pregnancy resources, calling pregnancy centers “fake clinics” that spread misinformation and disinformation. Pregnancy centers in California provide $14.2 million in free services for hundreds of thousands of the most vulnerable California families. They offer free medical care, social service referrals, and material assistance and the Catholic community has long supported their critical work. They should be supported in their work, not slandered.
