Search firm retained to conduct nationwide search
The Most Rev. Jaime Soto, president of the California Catholic Conference (CCC) and Bishop of Sacramento, announced today that Ned Dolejsi, the longtime executive director of the CCC will be retiring this summer. A search firm has been retained to identify a new director.
“Ned has been executive director of the CCC for more than 20 years, since we hired him away from his beloved Washington State,” said Bishop Soto. “My brother bishops and I will lose a indefatigable promoter of the Church’s ministry in California and a good friend.
“It is a bittersweet moment for us in California. We would like to keep him even longer, but it’s clear he and his family have other ideas,” said Bishop Soto. “We thank Ned for his devoted service and pray the tender mercies of the Lord Jesus will abide always with him and his dear family.”
Ned came to the CCC in 1997 after 10 years as executive director of the Washington State Catholic Conference. He also served nearly two decades in lay ministry at the Archdiocese of Seattle where he fulfilled a number of key roles. After graduation from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY, he began his professional career as an agricultural advisor to the Peace Corps in Iran. He was co-founder of the CHANNEL Volunteer Program in Seattle. He is currently a sponsor of the Providence St. Joseph Health System.
The Conference has hired The Reid Group (www.thereidgroup.biz) to conduct a nationwide search for Ned’s replacement. Anyone interested in being considered for the position is asked to contact The Reid Group through the website or by calling their office at (206) 947-2990 or (206) 947 1055.
