AB 18 and SB 44 Fentanyl dealer risk advisory

These bills would provide an advisory to be given to a fentanyl dealer—that providing fentanyl can kill someone—and if someone is poisoned or overdoses, the dealer could be charged with manslaughter or murder. The fentanyl crisis has devastated California, with 6000 deaths last year alone. Educating dealers about the grave harm of selling fentanyl is a step in the right direction to alleviate the crisis.

*Both bills failed in Assembly and Senate Public Safety Committees.
