May 13, 2021 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded the emergency use authorization for Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine on Monday to include children ages 12 to 15. This is the first Covid-19 vaccine in the United States authorized for use in younger teens and adolescents. The vaccine was previously approved for ages 16 and over. Covid-19 vaccines from Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are only authorized for people aged 18 and over. Some dioceses in the state have partnered with health officials to offer vaccine clinics at parishes. Please check with your local diocese for a list of times and locations available and talk to your health care provider if you have any medical concerns.
