To measure the value of Catholic Advocacy Day, both to participants and lawmakers, the California Catholic Conference requests feedback. The response from delegates is almost always overwhelmingly positive. People learn that interacting with their legislators is not as challenging as it might appear. In fact, like any new experience, the more one tries, the easier and more effective the communication becomes. Conference staff also receives many positive comments from lawmakers and their staff on the visits and each year Conference staff is asked when Catholic Advocacy Day will be so that it can be put on lawmakers’ schedules.
