Igniting a Faith that Serves

March 25, 2026
Plaza of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament
Sacramento, CA

Join California’s Bishops and Catholics from throughout the state for a sacred day of prayer, worship, and unity at the State Capitol.

On the Feast of the Annunciation — in the heart of Lent — Catholics from across California will gather in Sacramento, the core of our state’s civic life, to ignite a faith that serves: a faith rooted in prayer, strengthened in communion with our bishops and alive in the public square.

It is a day to unite all Catholics — clergy and laity, families and individuals — together with our shepherds in worship and visible hope.

In this Lenten season of repentance and renewal, we gather not as partisans, but as people of prayer. Not to argue, but to intercede. Not to divide, but to witness as Christ’s peacemakers and help build the Kingdom in the public square.

Gathering at the State Capitol — where decisions shaping the lives of millions are made — we offer a different kind of presence: one grounded in prayer, humility, and love of neighbor, standing side by side with our bishops as one Church.

Throughout the day, participants — alongside California’s bishops — will take part in:

  • A prayerful public rally calling us to faithful service
  • A Rosary procession around the Capitol, lifting up our state and its leaders, and all who serve the common good
  • The celebration of Holy Mass, grounding our public witness in worship
  • Opportunity for school students to have their picture taken on the Assembly Floor inside the State Capitol
  • An optional opportunity to visit legislative offices to greet district representatives and staff, demonstrating the Christ-filled love of Catholics

On this sacred feast, we remember that Mary appears to the world in many beloved forms — Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of La Vang, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Fatima — yet her message is always the same: to trust God and serve others.

Whether you come to pray, to walk, to worship, or to stand in solidarity with your bishops and fellow Catholics, your presence becomes a quiet but powerful sign of unity and hope at the very center of our state’s public life.

Come as you are. Bring your faith. Walk with Our Lady. Serve in love.
