In April 2007, the Committee on Marriage and Family Life of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) commissioned a survey of U.S. adult Catholics on their awareness and understanding of Catholic teaching on marriage, their attitude about marriage, and their personal experience in marriage preparation, the sacrament of marriage and daily married life.

“The research reflects that many U.S. Catholics see marriage in the Catholic Church as having a lasting effect on their relationships and faith.”

—Mark Gray, research associate professor commenting in Georgetown University news article, “Landmark Survey on Catholic Marriage Released.”
